A couple years ago, as some of you know, I wrote a song called “Changed”. (listen here). It came out of the central idea that keeps me a Christian: We get to be a part of what God is doing to heal the planet. If I had thirty seconds to say one thing to the entire planet, this good news would be it. And so in a small, four minute, worship-pop-song way, “Changed” was born.
And I had the ridiculous privilege of sharing it with a ton of people this weekend.
First, Blaine Hogan and Willow’s video team created one of the most inspiring videos I’ve ever seen, visual images that tap into the spirit of the song. His playful and yet deeply profound vision captured something that sounds and words never could. We shared the whole experience (video with live performance of the song) this weekend at Willow as part of Bill’s vision talk, and I hope that it served the community well. We posted it to YouTube here, or you can watch it below. Check it out, and please let us know what you think…
But then, after the 9am service, a woman named Melinda asked me to share “Changed” on her radio show this week. Her show, called Midday Connection on Moody Radio, turned out to be a national program heard by a truckload of people every day. Unbelievable! And so I drove down to Wheaton today to be on the show and tell the story about the song. If you’re interested, you can listen to the short interview here.
It’s been a long couple days, and I can’t wait to finish this blog and head to bed, but I’m feeling overwhelmingly humbled and filled up to get to share something I so deeply believe in with so many people. And it means a ton that you’d even take the time to read this. Good night…
